Description

Local Projects designs experiences, most often in public spaces, wherein technology serves to make humans more human. As a director in the Interaction Design department, you'll be responsible for user experience and user interface design that is intuitive and seamless from the experience of humans in physical space. Wireframes, user stories, all are tools in a large palette storytelling especially in museum spaces.

It is expected at the Director level, that you will (in the process of being the lead for the designing of experiences and interfaces on projects) --

1. Lead creative team meetings to get to the client solution for a variety of projects -- e.g. museum user experiences, user journey through physical space, tablets, websites, kiosks, interactives within the space

2. Set creative strategy, ideation processes and structure workflows

3. Foster effective internal Local Project team and client communication

4. Prepare, structure and lead presentations to internal teams and client groups

5. Nurture and foster team direction, constructive feedback, knowledge transfer across team members

6. Set and manage client expectations based on an understanding of the scope, team, milestones and deliverables, working with a Project Manager

Requirements

Advanced Related Degree -- Masters degree in Media Design or related field

Top Drawer Communication Skills -- Strong skills in communicating ideas through visual language -- wireframes, sketches of user flows/stories

Team Leadership Skills -- demonstrated experience helping a team of creatives get to effective solutions for clients

Demonstrated Related Experience -- brought to life innovative design with a team, pushing through pivots, client challenges, to get to meaningful and award-winning level design

Code Fluency -- the ideal candidate has a strong understanding of code and its application to user experience design in physical space -- e.g. Unity, Unreal, Open Frameworks
